Newly acquired applications often need to be fitted in existing landscapes. Ideally, this would be done as lean as possible, while still providing all necessary master data. Master data often consists of thousands of records of which only a handful change over time. Receiving applications would drastically reduce their load if they only need to process updates instead of entire master data files every interval. This was a challenge from an eMagiz customer who was having trouble implementing a new application due to the mismatch in the way data was made available (full load) and could be processed (updates only).
By offering a solution in which eMagiz filters updates from large files that largely stay similar to a previous run, this challenge could be solved. The master data is checked against a previous value and will be dropped if that value is unchanged, thereby drastically reducing the amount of data that needs to be processed.
Using the Delta Service solution, the customer was able to successfully finish a project that was put on hold and is now implementing this solution in other areas to reduce the amount of unnecessary data exchange. Interested how this solution works? Read the one-pager here.
